About O8 Sounds
Wobble Books gives people stories to discover. O8 Sounds gives them music to transform.
Why it's free
Some talented people can't afford studio time, producers, instruments or backing tracks. O8 Sounds removes a little financial barrier between somebody and their imagination. One sound can inspire a thousand others.
How it's made
Every track is composed and synthesised from scratch on the O8 DAW — a home-built music workstation with an MC-303-style groovebox. No samples from other records, so there's nothing to clear.
The O8 Sounds licence
- ✔ Free to stream and download
- ✔ Sample it, chop it, remix it, change the tempo or key
- ✔ Rap or sing over it
- ✔ Use it in videos, films, games and podcasts
- ✔ Release what you make — commercially too — with no royalties owed to O8 Sounds
- ✘ Don't re-upload the original tracks unchanged and claim them as your own, or register them with Content ID
Credit like "Prod. O8 Sounds — o8sounds.com" is appreciated, never required. And if you made something: send us a link — we'd love to hear it.
